NCL Vote For Summer Rugby

06 April 2011

In a groundbreaking piece history on Tuesday night the National Conference League clubs voted for a move to play their rugby during the summer months

At an emergency meeting at Leigh Miners' club at their Twist Lane ground, the 38 clubs voted 28-10 in favour of a switch to a summer season. This will undoubtably lead to a split between those clubs wanting the switch, and those wanting to continue playing their rugby during the winter season.

The new summer conference league will become the third tier or rugby league after Super League and the Championship.
