Hunslet Warriors Beat Judes

The Warriors, who were only accepted into the NCL Second Division this season, defeated First Division Oulton Raiders 4-12 last week in the BARLA National Cup First Round. And this week they claimed the scalp of Premier League side Wigan St.Judes, 22-16 in the Carnegie Challenge Cup.

Judes are struggling this season, second bottom of the Premier League, but even so, the achievement of the Hunslet side is not to be taken lightly. These two victories shows them to be one of the top amateur sides in the country.

In the all Premier League Challenge Cup tie between first and second, Thatto Heath defeated Leigh East 16-18. The two sides will meet again later this season in their postponed league fixture. It could go a long way to deciding the NCL Minor Premiership for 2010-11.
